How to use/apply

To achieve that smoky eye effect, use one of the Maybelline Master Smoky pens for a dark & sultry smoky eye make up. Next, apply Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara by working from the bottom of the lash up towards the tip. For super volume, apply several coats whilst still wet to achieve a truly colossal finish.

This is the first time I bought this and online too-so it was a great gamble. However it was a good risk-really nice mascara and my lashes instantly turn long and extenuated! Some mascaras get cloggy or are very hard to remove - this comes off easily too. No more “panda eyes” in the morning!!

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't like it I got this mascara (after reading surprisingly good reviews) and honestly it's bad. Made more mess on my eye lids than left the product on my eyelashes. The brush is horrible and way too big made me look like I can't do make up and I've used plenty of good mascaras that don't do that. I used to use Maybelline mascaras when I was younger I have no idea what happened to them.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from lovely stuff! just bought this a few days ago and i'm in love with it! i've never considered using waterproof mascara and i don't know why because normal mascara keeps my asian lashes short and stubby even after they're curled. i curled my lashes and tried this on - it immediately kept the curl and did little to no clumping! stayed put for the 5 hrs i was wearing it - i'm very impressed only problem is that it can be hard to remove if you don't have waterproof makeup remover and may be hard to get rid of if it smudges on the skin. but overall, very pleased with the product!

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mascara is great...wrapping is ridiculous! I love this mascara but to open it is ridiculous. How anyone elderly or disabled would get into it is beyond me! I cut myself using nail scissors each time. 2 x double wrappings of tighter than tight hard clear plastic and 2 x stickers to deal with. One sticker never comes of clean leaving sticky stuff to remove with eye makeup remover...the only thing that works.

It separates lashes well and the waterproof feature is superb for preventing panda eyes. All the various versions of this one that Maybelline have released aren't as good, especially the brushes.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite Mascara I have used this Mascara for a long time now, the mascara goes on evenly, gives a full lash in just 2 applications and never smudges and stays put all day. I always choose waterproof mascara, and when new ones come on the market I buy them to give them a go, but I always find I go back to this one - my favourite.Also seems to last for ages - great product.

I bought this mascara like month ago and im really happy with that, i use it only for my bottom lashes (cuz i wear false lashes), it doesn't leave any marks and i have puffy chicks so every other mascara was leaving marks. Just after long hard day at work there are some but i can really recommend it.:)

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Mascara! I have been using Colossal Waterproof mascara for quite a few years now. I never end up with "panda eyes" - it stays on perfectly. I can easily remove it with eyemake-up remover or baby oil. It is a strong black colour - some are very weak. Also it is easy to build up the length with a couple of coats. Every so often I try a new one that comes to the market and I always go back to this one - it is the best mascara (for me) that I have ever used.

No clumping and no need to keep going over and over lashes to get that coverage and lenght. And it stays on, stays curled and doesnt make your lashes look like spider legs

But I was keen to try it and see is it lived up to its claims. The wand is full, not one of those weird plastic ones with a few spikes! (Don't like those) the brush feels a little plasticy but still has the traditional wand style. The product itself is dark and thick. The Mascara did provide volume and helped my lashes appear longer. I used 2 coats. I would purchase this again.

This mascara does just what i need - a couple of flicks and my lashes look great. I like to back up my natural lashes with false ones when i go out, but with this mascara i didn't feel the need. There's no clumping aswell which is a major bonus and so many people have said to me how nice my eyes look when i'm wearing it. The only thing that would deter me - ever so slightly - from buying again is the colour of the tube - it's bright yellow and stands out in my make up bag. Some people might like this as it's easy to see but i'm not a fan. But that's just me being picky - fab product.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Colossal brush [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would like to start by saying I am in no means a professional at makeup and can be quite messy at the best of times when putting on mascara. I believe the colossal mascara is named as such because of the quite large brush. And this poses a problem for me personally as stated before I'm not neat even with a smaller brush which means I was much worse with a bigger one. That aside once I have cleaned off my eyelids and sometimes even under my eyes, it is a good mascara. I find it stays on well throughout the day with minimal smudge as I call it in the corner off my eyes by the end of the day. It doesn't leave black flecks on my face and I can get a pretty even coverage. The brush does put the mascara on how I like it ie none clumpy but still with a decent amount of volume, I put a minimal amount on and even then I manage to make a mess I blame the fact I have large eyes . I like this mascara very much. Everyone has a different preference on the size and shape of the brush depending on what works for them and for me the brush is too big, the liquid itself is good though. And even though I ended up wasting more on my face than my eyes I would still recommend it to people as a bigger brush may work better for them.

I like that i can wer just a little bit during the day and layer it up a bit for a more dramatic 'night out' look... and most importantly when i wake up hungover the next morning having not taken my make-up off it didint transger to my pillow or smudge down my face! lol

It has been on a roller coaster at Alton Towers, a funeral, day to day at work and suffered the flushes of a middle aged woman. After all of that I would say it is a really good mascara that doesn't clog or clump. It didn't irritate my contact lenses. It didn't smear too badly.....big tick on this one, don't like panda eyes. It lasted a full day which is great. Yes, there is a but. When I hear the claim "colossal", I think false eye lashes. This did not happen. I could also say you can't make a silk purse from a sows ear. My real comment would be....if you have really long thick lashes then this mascara will make them look colossal. If you have short, thin lashes this isn't going to happen." that aside on the whole I would buy this again.
