December 2008 in NYC

Some say that New York is at its best in December. Yes it's cold with a capital C (more like freezing with a capital F) but there's something really magical about the place. So wrap up warm – we love this season's preppy wool coats in winter white (so impractical on the subway but so cute) or festive red – and head on out into the cold.
Whether you're admiring the window displays at the city's department stores, skating in Central Park or simply doing battle with the crowds on Fifth Avenue, you can't help but feel like an extra in one of those lovely Christmassy films that New York always seems to provide the perfect backdrop for.
When it all gets too much simply head to one of the city's many coffee shops for a seriously restorative hot chocolate. Forget the dime a dozen chains and hunt down the real deal for rich thick chocolate – with a chunky homemade marshmallow on top, should you so desire it.
With all that chocolate-slurping and sub-mistletoe kissing, make sure your make up is up to the task. Try Maybelline SuperStay 18 Hour Wear Lipstick – to keep lips supersoft, and beautifully coloured from your first Chai Spiced Latte to your late night Cinnamon Eggnog.

Have yourselves a merry little Christmas!
